Subaru WRX

The Subaru WRX and STI are rally-bred machines that translate surprisingly well to off-road and overlanding builds. The symmetrical AWD, turbocharged boxer engine and stiff chassis give you a platform that handles rough terrain with confidence, and with the right suspension setup and protection underneath you can take a WRX or STI places most people wouldn't expect. Chase has been building and driving his own 2004 STI since 2015 and knows this platform well. At Flat 4 Offroad we stock lift kits, skid plates, suspension upgrades and overlanding accessories fitted to WRX and STI generations. The build path is a bit different from a Forester or Crosstrek — ground clearance gains are more modest and fitment needs to be confirmed by chassis and year — but the end result is a capable, fast, and genuinely fun off-road rig.
