Who is flat 4 Offroad

That's been the mission since day one. We started Flat 4 Offroad in 2020 because we kept seeing the same thing, people with capable vehicles and a ton of enthusiasm, but no clear path to getting them trail-ready. Finding the right parts in Canada was a headache, and the advice out there was either too generic or too intimidating.

So we built something different. A place where you get real answers based on actual experience, not a spec sheet. Whether you're adding a small lift to smooth out the backroads or going full overland build, we'll meet you where you're at and help you figure out the best path forward.

In 2025 we opened Bay 01 at 5510 3 St SE in Calgary, our first proper home base. It means faster turnarounds, more capacity, and a place to actually come hang out and talk builds in person. We're pretty excited about it.

The Team

Everyone here is an active builder and adventurer. When you reach out to Flat 4, you're talking to people who have asked the same questions you're asking right now.

Chase Schrader - Owner

Chase has been building and wheeling Subarus for years, and has the muddy recovery straps to prove it. His 2004 Forester has done week-long backcountry trips through Alberta and BC, and his 2004 STI keeps things exciting closer to home on the autocross circuit. He started Flat 4 Offroad because he wanted to help more people get outside, and that's still what gets him to the shop every morning.

Watch Now

Jen

Jen jumped into the overlanding world headfirst and hasn't looked back. Her Bronco Sport Badlands has been all over North America and she's one of the most welcoming people in the community — always stoked to share what she's learned and help newcomers find their footing on the trails.

Linden

Linden's 2011 Forester has been through just about everything we carry — which makes him a pretty great person to have doing your install at Bay 01. He knows these platforms inside and out, and he builds his own rig the same way he'd build yours: properly.

Zach

If you're starting from stock and wondering what your Crosstrek can actually become — Zach's build is a great place to look. He's taken a 2021 Crosstrek from daily driver to a genuinely capable adventure rig, and he documents the whole journey along the way.
