Long and heavy, the Outback can float and wallow once its dampers soften, especially loaded for a road trip through the Rockies. The Bilstein B6 Strut & Shock Set steadies it without a lift, combining twin-tube front strut assemblies with monotube gas-pressure rear shocks and Bilstein's digressive valving. There are sets for 2010-2014, 2015-2018 and 2019, the last listed by Bilstein as a single year with its own rear shock. Factory springs and top mounts transfer over, so ride height and alignment stay at spec. On a washboard backroad the Outback stays composed instead of skipping sideways.
